Social Researchers at DWP work collaboratively with colleagues across the Department (and beyond) to ensure evidence and research are embedded in the recommendations for future policy and delivery options. Researchers are often asked to:
Review and summarise research findings.
Design and run studies to inform policy decisions – both through undertaking hands-on research & analysis (i.e research fieldwork in operational settings such as job centres) and delivering through external research contractors.
Interpret evidence and provide advice to decision makers.
Build their skills and find new ways to answer difficult research questions.
*This is a list of potential locations in which apprentices could be hosted. Location preferences will be considered as far as possible when allocating roles, but specific locations are not guaranteed and will be finalised at the point an offer is made. All locations are subject to demand management approvals at the time so we cannot guarantee any location in advance.

Hybrid Working
This role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work.
If a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for the role and for you, you will normally be required to spend a minimum of 60% of your contracted working hours from your DWP office.
